WEAVING WORKSHOPS
Weaved bangles – 1 hour
In this workshop participants will construct a weaved bangle using natural plant fibres, whilst hearing stories on how Aboriginal women create jewellery.
* Suitable for beginners, ages 5 and above and all genders.
Fibre and twine – 2 hrs
Participants will try their hand at creating coil weave necklaces, including twining string, using natural plant fibres. During the workshop our artists will share knowledge on the old and new ways Aboriginal women are constructing jewellery to tell stories and continue cultural practices.

Mini basket (bigal) weaving - 2 hrs
This workshop sees participants learn how to construct mini weaved baskets, with natural plant fibres, to wear or display in their home. Our artists will share how their Ancestors made baskets for a variety of purposes and how these practices continue today in many forms.
* Suitable for beginners and intermediate
Coil basketry – 2 hrs & 3 hrs
Try your hand at weaving a coil basket utilising a range of natural fibres. In this workshop you will learn how to construct a coil basket using wrapping techniques.
* Suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced
Mini dilly (butjin) bags – 2 hrs & 3hrs
Guided by Gillawarra Arts artists, participants will learn how to assemble a mini dilly bag with natural fibres using traditional techniques. Learn about the cultural uses dilly bags provide for Aboriginal women.
